Presenting a curated show:
“Transfiguration (n): a complete change of form or appearance into a more beautiful or spiritual state”,

Featuring Kari Furre (fish-leather and metalwork), Joel Parkes (wood and pewter), Tom Palmer (advanced materials) and Anita Carnell (hand-stitched leather).

Engaging a collaborative approach the artists present a practical and conceptual response to the narrative of ‘Transfiguration’. The approach explores the notion of Conceptual Craft where the artist’s conceptual vision intersects with, and is realised by, material and process. The artists engage traditional skilled craft process, as well as developing new marriages of materials and techniques in order to convey their vision.

The responses range from a literal transformation of raw material to an installation exploring the process of metamorphosis.

Curator Charlotte Bowater seeks not to limit visitors to simply regarding beauty and skill in the work present, but for the objects themselves to prompt inner exploration of the notion of Transfiguration. Visitors are therefore invited into an immersive experience.
