Sand CycleSand Cycle
Private: Jayne Walker
The wave or tide recedes, the water runs off and erodes the sand. A myriad patterns emerge, miniature cliffs appear. Familiar to every sandy shoreline in the world the patterns water draws from the sand in a matter of minutes mirrors magnificent landscapes created on vast scale over millennia around the world.
In one piece Walker combines the permanence and impermanence of nature, a reminder perhaps that time is precious and nature’s grand schemes are also rendered intimate in the smallest vignettes.
